Arnold Raw Pro Classic Meet wrap-up!

I realize I have been a blogging slacker lately and I intend on getting better…..promise!

It’s crazy how fast time flies by, I was flying to Ohio this time last week to compete in the Arnold Raw Pro Classic. There’s nothing like leaving warmth for arctic Ohio conditions. I didn’t compete until Friday but because I was afraid of getting stranded in Chicago or getting sick (always happens to me on flights) I opted to leave 2 days prior. It’s a good thing I did because of course I got sick and felt like I was going to pass out due to my sugar levels taking a nose dive. Waiting in the longest line ever for my rental car didn’t help things and when my phone reached critical battery levels I was panicked I was going to get lost trying to find my friends house an hour drive away…it’s so dark in that damn state too. More freeway lights please!!

I stayed with my old training partner Scottie…I love him and his wife. They are the most awesome people ever and took me into their home last minute. There’s nothing more amazing than seeing friends and picking up like old times as if no time has passed since the last time you saw them. However, Scottie wouldn’t stop talking and I was near death giving him the “I’m about to pass out” face so hurry and feed me my sweet potato fool!! Unfortunately, I waited way to long and I couldn’t get any food down without feeling like I was going to throw up, it is the most awful feeling ever, I ended up just going to bed drinking glycofuse and praying to wake up minus the dizziness.

Breakfast with my boys brought me back to life…yay for Bob Evans Bacon, eggs and toast!

Friday Meet Day!

Weigh ins were crazy early at 6am, pretty sure I was still on Cali time because it sure did feel like 3 a.m. and I just wanted to sleeeeeep. I was 2nd on the list and came in at a huge 110lbs (I was actually trying to stay around 113) but I felt good and I couldn’t wait to just step on the platform and do work. Lifting started right at 9 a.m. and that is one thing I can say about the USAPL they always start on time and it moves quick. Warm-ups went well and I ended the day with a 270lb squat (felt like I had more in the tank but a meet PR) 175lb bench (disappointed in this but still a meet PR) and 336 Pull (also disappointing) But overall it helped me get a 3rd place finish in the wilkes and 2nd in the 114lb weight class. So amazing to share the platform with legends like Siouxz Hartwig and Jennifer Thompson…though we compete against one another they are such awesome girls you can’t be upset when they beat you. They definitely motivate me to get better and Siouxz is just a squatting machine-she set world records and went 9/9. I do believe she has the best strategy game ever and rarely if ever misses a lift…amazing to watch. Jennifer Thompson….gah just watch her bench no words are necessary. I have to give a huge thank you once again to Gregory Page for helping me with warm-ups and putting in my numbers at the meet. I’m sad we didn’t get to go out for dinner or even get pics together!!! Seriously thank you so much for everything.

Weekend Highlights!

The expo was so crowed it was hard to see anything over the sea of people I really got more dizzy than anything…I miss the good ole days when it was smaller and you walked away with a ton of free stuff.  BUT I did meet up with some really cool people all the guys at the LOA booth (Legends of Aesthetics) I even had a duck lip pose down, which I won, with Steve Kleva.

I so won this!

My medal!

Nothing like complaining about the cold and heading out in a half top!

Also Corey Hayes and Jason Harmon (stupidly we took zero pics) pretty sure they were afraid I’d outshine them in social media.  Really great guys, fun to hang out with and I also won the free t-shirt contest Corey and I had going on…Animal shirts don’t count!

Special thanks to Total Nutrition Monrovia for always hooking me up with the best BCAA’s and protein, I can’t thank you enough for your support.  Also to Puregear for the amazing cell phone accessories and providing me with my flight to all my last two meets I wouldn’t get there without you guys!! And of course to Eddie for watching the kids and putting up with their nonsense for 3 days…I know they drive you nuts but I couldn’t leave and compete without your help.
