NO ROIDS JUST RAGE!

NO ROIDS JUST RAGE

The reason I came up with this tank saying is due largely in part to being asked DAILY what I’m on.  There are those who say I should take it as a compliment BUT at the same time it makes me angry that people think in order to gain strength or muscle as a woman (not talking about guys here mainly because I don’t think it has the same stigma) you MUST be on steroids.  This is simply not the case.  NEWSFLASH: even those people that do use have to TRAIN!  Luckily for me when I began strength training at 17 years old I was surrounded by people who had my best interests in mind.  They never pushed anything on me aside from lifting heavy, eating right and being CONSISTENT!

By no means is this a slam on those women that choose to use steroids but I have to ask you WHY?!

Regardless to what anyone tells you there are side effects. I’ve been around the bodybuilding community since the beginning and have seen firsthand the transformation some women go through, such as, hair loss, growth of facial and body hair, deepening of the voice and sometimes fertility problems. Not to mention, acne and not just on the face, I’m way too vain to have crazy acne breakout, hell I barely had it as a teenager all be damned if I do anything to intentionally get it now.   It’s a personal choice but in the end what are you getting out of it?

Powerlifters, last I checked made ZERO.

My point is you will not be making a living off winning any shows.

I WANT IT NOW!

We live in this instant gratification society where everyone wants results immediately.  The fact of the matter is that whether you do decide to use or not, strength, muscle etc.  won’t happen overnight.  Yes, it’s called “performance enhancement” for a reason so it will happen quicker but don’t kid yourself into thinking that it’s a magic pill and means you can slack off and not train.  Also, as strength and muscle growth increases at an accelerated rate so could joint, ligament and cartilage problems.  Slow n steady wins the race; I mean what’s the rush? I’m perfectly content with the small gains I make-it keeps me pushing for more, keeps my ass in the gym.  So before you just assume people are using talk to them first you might find that they just bust ass and work hard and have been doing it FOREVERRRRR.

I’m 37 years old, my love affair with the iron has been a 20 year endeavor (prior to that 14 years as a competitive gymnast) and I’m proud that I never succumbed to the that side of the sport.  Do your research and make an INFORMED decision and don’t do it just because you want results quickly-because I promise you in time with consistency and discipline results

happen naturally.
