What is your diet like? For those that asked what I eat…

First off I AM NOT a nutritionist, therefore, what I eat, may not be enough calories, fat, protein, carbs etc etc for your specific needs.  Please keep in mind that I am currently 108 lbs as of this morning (the lowest I’ve weighed in foreva) and only 5 feet TALL. That being said if you are 200lbs DO NOT eat exactly what I am eating you will starve to death, lose muscle,screw up your metabolism and hate me.

I recently changed up how I eat because I decided to try and drop a weight class for my next PL meet (going from 114 down to the 103.5 lbs division) why?? Mainly because I always weigh in at 110 lbs, so I am in that crappy in between stage where I need to either eat up above 114 and come down or just take the plunge to the lower weight.  That being said I am not going to kill myself trying to get there, if I weigh in at 103 fine, if not, I am fine with being under weight and competing in the 114lb class. USAPL is same day weigh-in so I don’t want to be so depleted that I die trying to lift.

Here’s what I ate yesterday:

6:45 a.m. 1/2 cup brown rice, 1/2 Cup extra lean ground turkey all mixed together with 2 tablespoons organic marinara sauce (yes I eat carbs first thing in the morning-GASP)

9:30 a.m. Plain Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon Agave and one pacakage of Omega rich trail mix (blended almonds, cranberries, walnuts, and pepitas)

about 11:45 1/2 cup brown Rice, 1/3 cup extra lean ground turkey, 2 Tablespoons marinara sauce, (added in asparagus, zucchini, white onion mixture that was pan fried in olive oil-about 1/2 cup

2:30 p.m. One slice fiber bread with 1 tablespoon organic peanut butter, and a squirt or two of agave honey.

5:30 p.m. Plain Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon Agave and one pacakage of Omega rich trail mix (blended almonds, cranberries, walnuts, and pepitas)

8:30 p.m (yes super late) about 2 oz of steak (ribeye to be exact) and mixed veggies (I buy them frozen in a bag and toss them in the microwave when in a pinch)

 

I pretty much eat the same way everyday except the evening meal can vary depending on what I feel like cooking and based on how I feel.  There are days when I feel like I need something more or diff (listen to your body there is a difference between craving something because you smell food and your body actually crying out for more fats, carbs, etc).  When that does happen I don’t go gluttonous pig crazy-I still monitor my portions and yes I measure and weigh out my foods.

The reason I do extra lean ground turkey is because I HATE cooking chicken and the turkey is easy and cooks fast. Food prep sucks so any time savers out there will only HELP you. On that note, the rice cooker is your friend-it cooks, it sautes and it steams!

On the cardio front-I do mine first thing in the a.m. fasted (meaning before I eat) I am currently only doing 30 minutes threes times a week (there are occasions that I can’t sleep so I sometimes do it 4 times a week).

 

As you can see I am still holding fat on my lower haf-my legs NEVER get lean. On a positive note means I can cut weight without losing a ton of muscle!
